Allan used sculpture to wrestle with and untangle the episodic burdens of his bi-polar condition. This piece is an example of his transformational exploring - we see the artist broken or cracked. Across the three-dimensions he inscribed an excerpt of Gibran’s seminal essay, "On Freedom":
